Janine M. D'Agostini is the wife of El Dorado County’s Sheriff, John D’Agostini, in the Sierra foothills and mountains of Northern California. Janine has been the indefatigable engine moving THRIVE With 10-35 forward at every step of the process. Her persistent passion and wisdom has guided THRIVE through both some difficult and some amazing times. Her background in event planning has been very valuable for launching and executing THRIVE events as has been her ability to recruit, energize, motivate, and lead our volunteers.
One of her shining qualities is her evident love and care for the members of the law enforcement family, and she has been there for them to extend a comforting and caring presence at all hours of the night and day. She has truly been an inspiration to many!
John E. Roe is a Consulting and Clinical Psychologist with a heart for law enforcement members and their families, and he has helped many of them in his private counseling practice. John served two commissions in the United States Air Force, one as an aviation psychologist, and he had the opportunity to observe and experience the effectiveness of the family support program in the military during Vietnam and Operation Desert Storm. That was part of his motivation to approach Sheriff and Mrs. D’Agostini with the idea of creating a similar kind of support program for local law enforcement.
John is part of the original advisory team that helped launch THRIVE With 10-35 and he continues in that role today.
Barbara E. Thompson is a licensed marriage and family therapist, trainer, mediator, and business coach/consultant. She was a military wife for many years while her husband served in the U.S. Army, first as an enlisted person and then as an officer who was a military chaplain for several military police units and also served military families during Operations Desert Storm and Iraqi Freedom. Her husband also became a reserve law enforcement officer and chaplain for two counties, and it became very clear to Barbara that the challenges are extraordinary in such occupations. She wanted to provide some tangible assistance to those who serve us, so that was part of what prompted her to join the original advisory team who helped launch THRIVE With 10-35; she continues in that role today.
